Comet Neowise and the Ballyhooley Road (2020)
Derek O’Keefe
This is comet neowise from the summer of 2020. I took a chance at about 4am and drove north out of Cork city. Finding a quiet place on the road I setup a fixed tripod using a standard DSLR and kit lens. This is a 15 second exposure. This was taken during moonlight which illuminated the foreground and its a good approximation as to what the comet looked like with naked eye
Bio: Software engineer and hacker for a large corporation. In my spare time I like to automate a small observatory and monitor variable stars.
Detail: 15 seconds using a standard kit lens. I can’t remember processing details. I think I set levels and colour balance and maybe stretched the histogram.
