THUR 17 NOV 6:30PM This workshop will provide an introduction to astrophotography. Award-winning astro photographer Sara Harvey and Phillip Finane from Astrophotography Club Ireland will give an overview of the astrophotography process, demonstrate their astrophotography rigs and give an introduction to processing images. Cork Astronomy Club will then take the group outside to learn about identifying constellations and other features of the night sky using the Stellarium astronomy software to identify and choose subjects for astrophotography.
Note: In case of rain, the Stellarium portion of the evening will take place indoors as a demonstration.

Sara Harvey is from Bishopstown, Co. Cork and has recently been shortlisted in the ‘Out of this World’ category of the DIAS Reach For the Stars astrophotography competition for her image ‘Jellyfish Nebula’, taken in her back garden.
